MAC Tendertone Lip Balm: Swatch & Review

Lately I feel like I've heard a ton of raving going on about the Mac Tendertones, a product infamous for its difficulty to obtain as they are only released as limited edition items with collections. The most recent release occurred with the 'Cook Mac' collection - 4 different shades were released.
Of course I was beyond curious about what was so popular about these cute little pots of lip product, so I naturally went and picked up a shade to give it a try.

I chose the shade 'Hush Hush' - a lovely peachy toned gold which is in fact very similar to their ever popular 'Rubenesque' Paint Pot.

As you can see, and as I had expected even prior to doing swatches at my Mac counter, the shades are all quite sheer as it is in fact a lip balm and not a gloss, however these shades could easily be applied over any lipstick to provide a lovely glossy finish as well.
I am in love with the texture of these, not sticky in the least and so soft and smooth on your lips. Of course there is the added bonus of an SPF 12 which makes these ideal for the warmer temperatures heading our way.
Last but not least, the ever so slight strawberry kiwi flavor is the deal breaker - absolutely lovely!

If you are at all interested in picking up one of these bad boys I would highly suggest doing so, or if nothing else heading to your nearest Mac counter or free standing store to take a look first hand.

Nail of the Day: Revlon "Peach Petal"

This is a very pale, peachy pink cream color which is perfect for spring. I did have some slight problems applying this color, it took approximately 3 coats to provide a nice opaque finish - this is one complaint I have with certain other select Revlon shades as well. If you are willing to over look this detail, as I indeed am, because let's face it, for the price of around 5 dollars you really can't go wrong or expect much more.

I have formed quite a nice Revlon polish collection over time, and overall I cannot say enough about their selection of colors, packaging and quality. This color, along with a couple others, were a recent discovery of mine, and have fulfilled my spring pastel obsession perfectly.
